چکیده

We consider performing phase estimation under the following conditions: we are given only one copy of input state, state does not have to be an eigenstate unitary, and must measured. Most quantum algorithms make assumptions that them unsuitable for this 'coherent' setting, leaving textbook approach. present novel phase, energy, amplitude both conceptually computationally simpler than method, featuring a smaller query complexity ancilla footprint. They do require Fourier transform, they sorting network compute median several estimates. Instead, use block-encoding techniques estimate bit at time, all amplification via singular value transformation. These improved subroutines accelerate performance Metropolis sampling Bayesian inference.

Faster phase estimation

We develop several algorithms for performing quantum phase estimation based on basic measurements and classical post-processing. We present a pedagogical review of quantum phase estimation and simulate the algorithm to numerically determine its scaling in circuit depth and width. We show that the use of purely random measurements requires a number of measurements that is optimal up to constant ...

Quantum Amplitude Amplification and Estimation

Consider a Boolean function χ : X → {0, 1} that partitions set X between its good and bad elements, where x is good if χ(x) = 1 and bad otherwise. Consider also a quantum algorithm A such that A|0〉 = ∑ x∈X αx|x〉 is a quantum superposition of the elements of X, and let a denote the probability that a good element is produced if A|0〉 is measured. If we repeat the process of running A, measuring t...

Corticostriatal coordination through coherent phase-amplitude coupling.

The corticostriatal axis is the main input stage of the basal ganglia and is crucial for their role in motor behavior. Synchronized oscillations might mediate interactions between cortex and striatum during behavior, yet direct evidence remains sparse. Here, we show that, during motor behavior, low- and high-frequency oscillations jointly couple cortex and striatum via cross-frequency interacti...

Coherent-Classical Estimation for Linear Quantum Systems

We consider a coherent-classical estimation scheme for a class of linear quantum systems, where the estimator is a mixed quantum-classical system that may or may not involve coherent feedback. We show that when the quantum plant or the quantum part of the estimator (coherent controller) is an annihilation operator only system, coherent-classical estimation without coherent feedback can provide ...

Quantum phase estimation algorithms with delays: effects of dynamical phases

The unavoidable finite time intervals between the sequential operations needed for performing practical quantum computing can degrade the performance of quantum computers. During these delays, unwanted relative dynamical phases are produced due to the free evolution of the superposition wavefunction of the qubits. In general, these coherent ‘errors’ modify the desired quantum interferences and ...
